ENJOY YOUR YOUTH
While dining at a fast-restaurant, I observed the many young people there. I wasn't sure if they were high school or college students. Feeling their energy, I mused to myself "Enjoy your youth!"
My body may be old but I'm young at heart. New adventures await me. I mine them like searching for precious gold.

MY EXISTENCE IS VALID
It's bad enough that society wants to make transpeopple disappear. It s more disturbing when so called 'Christisns' that I cannot be transgender and Christian.
During church this past Sunday this thought crossed my mind. I remember the inner struggle I experienced when I came out. I was born again in the early 1970s. I came out in 2005. One of the concerns I expressed prior to my spiritual conversion was how each person treats their fellow human being.
My conversion to Christianity was real and so was my acceptance to being trans. Both times I felt relieved and complete. Our experiences are valid. I don't care what critics say about me.

EXPECTATIONS
I once asked a young trasgender woman what she wanted for herself. I believe that she was lost in other people's expectations, and lack of self-confidence.
Each person has unique qualities. When other try to pigeon-hole them in a particular category, I am appaled. It's identity politics at its core and I am chafed by this narrow mindedness.
I enjoy the numerous expressions of gender. Observing this in my questioning phase helped push me forward in my transition. I am happy where I am. I celebrate the people who discover ther own path. I am evolving all the time. I look forward to what lies ahead in my journey.

NIGHT OWL
I enjoy walking the city street at night. It's usually crowded on the main drags with folks dining, shopping, or just hanging out. I favor places less crowded. I particularly enjoy the boardwalks downtown. It's lively, peaceful, and a place I feel totally comfortable.
Being nocturnal, I view the city skyline with admiration and a sense of awe. Solitude in a place where I can just be myself. In a world with so many distractions, I do find oases of quiet spaces.

LONG AGO, TOMORROW
I listened to a song today by B. J. Thomas titled "Long Ago, Tomorrow". I first heard it in 1971 when I was in the service. Listening to it again brought me back to those confusing times.
I was 23 years old searching for meaning in my life. The song (and a few others) echoed how I actually felt inside.. Lost. Confused. Longing. That year was one of the most challenging years of my life.
Now I am a happy and content Christian trans person. Listening to "Long Ago Tomorrow" is humbling in that I recognized that I needed something. Sometimes it good to go back to remember where I came from. Now I'm I a much better place
