Lighthouses and Nature

As you may see I am a lover of lighthouses and nature. I visited a lighthouse back in 1982 and have read much about them since then. Lighthouses go back to ancient times and are still a viable part of life today. 

My love of nature goes back to my childhood. There were woods in the back of the complex I used to live in. I always wandered into the woods against my mother's wishes. I enjoyed wondering along the trails and exploring the shrubbery. On occasion I would see a rabbit or a chipmunk. When I was a scout I spent two weeks at summer camp. On my free time I would wander in the woods enjoying the scenery. 

When I spend time out in nature, I feel a oneness, a connection with my surroundings. I feel a closer connection possibly because I have Native American ancestry. Land has always been focal in the culture. I will keep posting photos of lighthouses and nature scenes. I hope it will encourage you to spend more time out in nature.

Quiet Moments

 In those quiet moments, thoughts of where my journey has taken me fill my mind. I'm different and yet I didn't feel any earthshaking experience. This has been the way my journey has gone. I find these quiet moments rather refreshing.

I've always been a quiet and reflective individual. Quiet spaces for me is nirvana. An empty church, park, among nature. These thoughts are clearest when I wake up in the morning. This has happening with more frequency. From time to time I wonder if my being transgender was the fulfillment of a Native American prophecy.

There are those times I wish that I could travel by foot across the land. As a child I was fascinated by country roads and trails. I wondered where they would lead. Now in my middle years I still have that curiosity. Perhaps my transgender journey is an answer to this desire.

Nature and Transgender

I am a nature lover. I enjoy being out in the forest among the trees ponds, and animals. Part of me is attuned to the land, having Native-American ancestry. Even as a child I had the sense that there was something special about nature.

I look at gender the same way. Transgender is a natural part of me and millions of others. there are those forces who wish to destroy both nature and the lives of transgender people. There are many metaphors here at play. I enjoy both of them.
