Internet Back On

I got my internet back on today. I'll do my internet radio program on Thursday afternoon. It's gotten now that I need to do some things ahead of time. I used to could do things on the fly but not anymore. December is traditionally an active month for me so I need to make sure that I don't forget anything.

I will need to think of goals for 2018. I have two thus far. Get all my dental work done and legally change my name. I need to publish my chapbook and will do so in January. I am keeping up with as much news as possible. Narrowing down to a few issues that I can work on with other folk. Picking my battles.

December

December is here (so fast). This is usually an active month for me. Gatherings, a little shopping, sharing the joy of the season. This past Saturday, there was a Christmas Tree lighting celebration at church. Estimates of how many people came range between eight hundred and a thousand people.

This is also a time of reflection. I'm thankful about the many blessings  bestowed on many folks and on me.Many people will be alone. Some will be depressed. This is particularly true in the LGBT community. Many are estranged from loved ones and families. Bringing joy can be as simple as a smile, a card, a meal, or an invitation to a concert.

As the years pass I am reminded of the many people would have passed through my life. I have been  enriched by them and share some of the good tidings with others.

December

December is in full swing now. People are scurrying about getting gifts, trees, and having office parties. Watching all this makes me dizzy at times. Yesterday I sat in an empty church sanctuary, thankful that I've made it this far.

In my mind this time of year can put many things into perspective. With each passing year this is means so much more to me. While I'm thankful for many things I'm mindful of many lonely people at this time. I appreciate family and friends for the meaning they add to my life.

We may see December as the end of another year. However, it can be the beginning of new goals and ideas. I guess it's just the student in me. I want to discover new things, to have my thinking challenged, and to share this knowledge with others. Yesterday, I enjoyed how much freedom we have to choose how we want to live our lives. It's something that needs to be encouraged.
