GENEVIEVE'S GEMS

Time and memory are true artists; they remold reality nearer to the heart's desire.

GENEVIEVE'S GEMS

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them- that only creates sorrow. Lets reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.

GENEVIEVE'S GEMS

We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come to reality, it Take an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.

GENEVIEVE'S GEMS

In solitude, we become aware that we were together before we came together and that life is not a creation of our will but rather an obedient response to the reality of our being united.

PERCEPTION AND REALITY

Perceptions about place and people can be correct and they can be wrong. When misplaced and incorrect perceptions become reality this is where problems come.

For decades many folks believed that Africa was wild and untamed with savages. Nothing is further from the truth. There are cosmopolitan cities, art, and people who love and care for their country. Much racial strife has been caused by misconceptions of a particular ethnic group. All groups have experienced some form of discrimination. Misperceptions can have disasterous effects.

As a trans person I see the same misconceptions. I'm amazed that even in LGB community the misconceptions about trans people boggles the mind. I can educate folks about trans topics, it's also up to them to educate themselves. It's also up to people to drop their pride and be open to the fact that maybe their belief system is wrong. Not easy but necessary if wrong perceptions are to change.

Genevieve's Gems

Hope lies in dreams, in imagination, and in the courage of those who dare to make dreams a reality.

Perception and Reality

One of the aspects of being out is how people perceive you. It's something that I don't think about consciously all the time but it's there nevertheless. I have been perceived as female much of the time now, especially when I'm out with my wife. She feels much more comfortable with my gender identity now.

I mentioned to a group of ladies that we can and will enjoy our lives when we live without fear. This is something I wanted long before now and now I'm living it. Along the way if I have changed people's minds about transgender people, then I consider this to be a blessing for that individual and us as transgender people. One more mind has been changed.
