I have visited numerous bookstores and libraries, looking for books and magazines about transgendered men and women. There are some books and magazines, but not a lot. There are some fine books like "Transgender Warriors" and "Gender Outlaw" and "Transgender Tapestry" is a good magazine. There are some other good books, but there needs to be more publications by and about transgender people.
I am writing a play about a transvestite. It's not the coming of age story that is common, but I am trying to write about someone who enjoys his life and presents a positive insight about transgender people.
I think about our community much and all the potential that we possess. I would love to see many goals achieved this year. I love you like I love my own family. We ARE a family.
