2025 SUMMARY

This year was a mixed bag. Some financial struggles, my spouse needing more help, my slowing down a bit. There were some great moments also. My spouse and I celebrating our birthday (same date) at an Indian restaurant. Our 45th wedding anniversary.  Reconnecting with an old friend.

My biggest highlight happened during the summer was a visit to the Aids memorial. The urge to go there was strong on that particular day, though I had been there a number of times in the past.

As I sat on a bench music played over a loudspeaker. The songs were sung by the gay men's choir. Most, if not all, succumbed to AIDS. I remember my indifference about them during that time. Then I said to myself, "Wait! These are somebody's children, brothers, sisters, uncles, dads, aunts. "  Many women died from the scourge also. I sat there almost in tears.

Listening to the songs, it seemed as if they were saying  'I forgive you.' for your indifference. Some of those singers may have passed but the message they left spoke to my heart. I accepted their forgiveness. I went away feeling refreshed and lighthearted.

This was the highlight of 2025 for me.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!
