On April 25, 1965, in Philadelphia, over 150 people protested the discriminatory practices of Dewey's Lunch Counter. Transgender, Gays, and gender nonconforming people were barred from dining here because they were deemed inappropriate. A second protest happened a short time later. Flyers were handled to folks on the street. After pressure and the community awareness, Dewey's discriminatory practices were done away with.
